About Lost Paws Malta
One place for every lost, found and spotted cat in Malta and Gozo.
What it does
Lost Paws Malta brings lost, found and spotted cats together in one place. Every new photo is checked against the cats already posted, so a lost cat and a found cat that look alike can be matched.
Every post comes with a poster and an image to share on Facebook, where most people still look. There's also a help board where feeders can ask for a hand with trapping, lifts to the vet and fostering.

What to expect
Looked after with care
It's free to use, with no ads. I do my best to keep the guides accurate and the posts safe. Phone numbers and rules link to their source, and I read every report.
Your details stay private
Your email is never shown, your number only if you choose, and posts show an area, never your street.
Respect for everyone who helps
Owners, finders, feeders and rescuers all want cats safe and home. This is a place to help them find each other.
Made to share on Facebook
Facebook is still where most people are. Every post comes with an image and text ready to share in the groups.
What Lost Paws Malta is
- A noticeboard and a meeting point for owners, finders and feeders.
- Not a rescue, a shelter or a vet, and it can't collect animals. For a hurt stray, a vet or a licensed rescue comes first. See emergency vets.
- It isn't an official service, and isn't linked to the government, any NGO or any group of feeders.
Who's behind it
I'm one person in Malta, building this in my spare time. I've lost cats of my own. One came home and I'm still hoping for the other, and I'd been thinking about a site like this for a few years.
I stay anonymous because I'd rather the cats were the story. You can always reach me by email or on the Facebook Page.
Big respect to the feeders and rescuers who look after cats every day. I donate when I can, and I'm always in favour of adopting a stray.
Started in October 2026.
How AI is used
I'm not a developer. AI tools wrote much of the code and the Maltese, and I decided what to build and checked the results.
- Reading a pasted Facebook post or screenshot to fill in the form. You always check the details before anything is posted.
- Comparing cat photos to suggest possible matches. This runs on your own phone or computer, and a person always decides.
- The Maltese was written with AI help. If something reads wrong, please tell me.
A person always decides whether a post goes up, and whether two cats are the same.
